International Staff Training Week, Italy
Politecnico di Milano is excited to announce its first International Staff Training Week and invites technical and administrative staff from partner universities to share this opportunity. This initiative will take place in Milan from 6 to 10 October 2025, and is entirely focused on exploring operational strategies and institutional practices for environmental sustainability in Higher Education.
In today’s world, universities are increasingly called upon to integrate environmental sustainability into their daily operations, not just through research and teaching, but also by transforming their infrastructure, operations, and internal processes. Technical and administrative staff are crucial in driving this transformation, as they help translate institutional strategies into impactful actions and foster a culture of environmental responsibility and behavioural change both within and beyond the university. This week will provide a space for mutual learning and the exchange of best practices at the European level.
What to expect:
- Strengthen knowledge, skills, and professional capacities related to the green transition;
- Share practical approaches and solutions;
- Learn from peers across Europe;
- Contribute to broader institutional change.
Key topics will include:
- Sustainable mobility strategies;
- Mitigation and adaptation strategies;
- Campus energy management;
- Circular economy practices;
- Environmental certifications;
- Behavioural change and environmental sustainability communication.
You should consider applying if you:
- Are eager to acquire new knowledge and skills related to sustainable development and the green transition, and motivated to apply this learning in your daily work;
- Recognize the importance of environmental responsibility within the university context and you are willing to explore new ways to integrate sustainability campus practices;
- Are curious to learn from others, share what works (and what doesn’t), and bring home ideas that can be adapted to your own context;
- Believe in the role of universities in driving behavioral change and social responsibility, and want to be part of that transformation.
