In January 2025, the APPEAR Office conducted a visit to the AER project, which is focused on strengthening higher education, research, and science communication in agroecology within the Rwenzori region of western Uganda. During the visit, the team met with the leadership of Mountains of the Moon University to commend the university’s support and the committed efforts of the project team. They also visited Uganda Martyrs University, the Youth United Farmers Group, and the Kaghema Aghetereana Cooperative Society, a self-sustaining organisation known for producing certified organic cocoa.
