After the completion of this course, students are able to
•carry out laboratory experiments for studying nutrient deficiency in crop plants and root-soil interactions relevant for root phosphorus acquisition.
•diagnose nutrient deficiency symptoms in crop plants.
•interpret experimental data related to the phosphorus uptake of plant roots.
•outline the physiological changes caused by the deficiency of individual nutrients.
•outline the physiological processes governing root P acquisition from soil.
