“Regenerative Medicine is an emerging interdisciplinary field of research and clinical applications focused on the repair, replacement or regeneration of cells, tissues or organs to restore impaired function resulting from any cause” (Greenwood et al. 2006).
Research in this field develops rapidly leading to a steadily growing number of scientific publications that need to be reviewed. The students will search, present and discuss scientific literature with a focus on stem cell research and tissue engineering. After writing an abstract the students will give a talk on their chosen topic or present it on a poster. Furthermore, different "formats" will be applied for an intensive discussion of a "hot topic" from the field.

Inhaltliche Voraussetzungen (erwartete Kenntnisse)

After completion of this seminar, students can search for, find, critically read, review, present and discuss (scientifically relevant and also controversial) publications in the field of medical biotechnology.
