This course goes above and beyond the introductory and mid-level hydrological courses. It covers recent developments and advances in the field of hydrology and integrated water resources management, including snow and glacial hydrology, ecohydrology, catchment modelling, and the broad area of soil-vegetation-atmosphere-processes, their measurements at various spatial scales including remote sensing techniques and state-of-the-art developments for modelling approaches, as well as recently developed data sets.

Short introductions will be provided by the lecturers on selected topics and based on the individual interests of registered M.Sc. and PhD students, participants will chose one topic from a pool of research themes to study in detail, write a term paper and present & discuss in class.

At the end of the course, the students will be able to:
•elucidate recent developments and advances in the field of hydrology.
•describe current, state-of-the-art techniques that are applied to hydrological research.
•write a scientific seminar paper with the correct citations, and bibliography.
•in a scientific forum, present the latest findings found in the hydrological literature.
