Lehrinhalt

Assembling and budding mechanism of enveloped bionanoparticles is still not fully understood. For analytical characterization and quantification of bionanoparticles, a range of orthogonal analytical methods are required. The course will cover a broad range of suitable and relevant analytical approaches from the analysis of small biomolecules (e.g., metabolomics) up to the physical characterization methods of bionanoparticles in their assembled form.

Participants will learn about:
•How to quantify bionanoparticles and measure their size characteristics (e.g, Taylor Dispersion Analysis)
•Principle of light scattering techniques (e.g., DLS, NTA)
•Data evaluation and interpretation for bionanoparticle quantification and characterization
•Theory and application of mass spectrometry for the analysis of bionanoparticle compartments
•How to identify and quantify small biomolecules using best analytical practices
