The lecture is divided in two parts:
1) Theoretical background of Ecologically Oriented Methods and Monitoring in River Engineering (structural and non structural measures)
- Basic priniciples
- Ecohydraulic studies
- Role of river morphology and sediment transport
- Technical river engineering (ramps, groins, etc.)
2) The second part is dealing with the practical application of a numerical model for ecological issues. Here the students are working in different practical units on numerical model application for (i) the assessment of climate change, (ii) spawning habitat restoration, (iii) hydropeaking and different other hydraulic engineering aspects.
- Lehrziel
-
Aim is to derive basic knowledge concerning techniologies and modelling instruments in term of an integrative river management.
