In this course, students will develop a basic under-standing of scientific circular economy concepts and knowledge on the basics of System Thinking and Transformation research in relation to circular economy issues. Insights will be acquired on biophysical society-nature interactions and an understanding of strategic papers and policy making. Students will also gain knowledge and an understanding of specific waste management issues and current framework (e.g., legal requirements, technical possibilities) relevant for circular thinking/circular economy.

With successful completion of the course, students will gain the following skills:
• Students gained knowledge on scientific basics of the concept of circular economy
• Students have achieved improved abilities to critically read, analyze and interpret current academic literature, policy documents and assessment reports and participate in related discussions in a constructive and well-informed manner
• Students will have improved their ability to work in interdisciplinary teams
• Students will have learned to participate in discussions in a constructive and well-informed manner
• Students will have improved presentation and discussion skills in groups and individually
