“Regenerative Medicine is an emerging interdisciplinary field of research and clinical applications focused on the repair, replacement or regeneration of cells, tissues or organs to restore impaired function resulting from any cause” (Greenwood et al. 2006).
Research in this field develops rapidly leading to a steadily growing number of scientific publications that need to be reviewed. The students will search, present and discuss scientific literature with a focus on stem cell based therapies, assays and products. The students will also present selected topics in different "formats" including e.g.controversial discussion of a "hot topic" from the field.
Inhaltliche Voraussetzungen (erwartete Kenntnisse)

basic knowledge in biotechnology/life science, interest in medical biotechnology/cell based therapies
Lehrziel

After completion of this seminar, students can search for, find, critically read, review, present and discuss (scientifically relevant and also controversial) publications in the field of medical biotechnology.
