Lehrinhalt

An individual internship will be performed in an agency or private company that carries out projects related to soils and global change. This will allow the students to get a practical training under real conditions, apply theoretical knowledge and expand their competences. It will also provide an opportunity to learn about career positions and different working environments and carry out specialized work which might not be offered within the programme.

The activities to be conducted during the internship are variable, and may include field or lab work or desk studies, as long as there is a connection with soil and global change aspects.
A list of potential internships and topics will be provided; the student may suggest additional institutions. The place/institution where the internship will take place will be discussed with the course coordinator, who will authorize the internship. A mentor from the host institution will be assigned, who will be both contact person for the student and responsible for him/her during
the whole duration of the stay. In case it is foreseen to include internship activities in a Master Thesis, this should be clarified and discussed in advance.

The internship will have a duration of at least 75 working hours. The temporal distribution of the hours will be discussed between student, host institution and course coordinator.

Inhaltliche Voraussetzungen (erwartete Kenntnisse)

Student has at least a basic knowledge on soil sciences.
