Students should learn about the key stages of recombinant protein production, beginning with state-of -the art sequencing technologies and extending to pivotal bioinformatic research areas. They will gain knowledge on fundamental aspects of gene and genomes analyses, delving into microbiome interactions and dynamics, alongside concepts of systems biology, metabolic modeling and flux analysis. Theoretical proficiency will be gained in constructing metabolic models from sequence datasets and formulating laboratory experiments for model validation and following up on model predictions. Furthermore, they will understand the basics of protein modeling and molecular dynamics simulations and will be able determine the possibilities and challenges of describing complex molecular systems by computational means.
