European Pillar of Social Rights


From 24-25 May 2018, Dragana Damjanovic is going to take part in the conference "International Regulation of Markets and the Erosion of the European Social and Political Model" at the University of Granada. She will speak about the "European Pillar of Social Rights – chances and risks for Social Europe".

In her presentation, Priv.-Doz. Dr. Dragana Damjanovic, LL.M. (Berkely), will elaborate on the legal nature of the new EU instrument of the European Pillar of Social Rights and its incorporation within the European Semester (the yearly cycle of economic policy coordination within the EU). On this basis she will discuss the potentials and deficiencies of this new instrument to build a more Social Europe. Furthermore, she will raise questions about the democratic legitimacy and accountability of this new governance instrument.

Schneedecken in Österreich laut neuer Studie stark rückläufig

Bis zu 80 Prozent der Gletschermasse könnten bis 2050 verschwinden. Zu diesem Zwischenergebnis kommt das interdisziplinäre Projekt „Wasser im Klimawandel“ des Umweltministeriums, an dem die BOKU, die TU Wien, GeoSphere Austria und die Universität Graz beteiligt sind.
