European Pillar of Social Rights


From 24-25 May 2018, Dragana Damjanovic is going to take part in the conference "International Regulation of Markets and the Erosion of the European Social and Political Model" at the University of Granada. She will speak about the "European Pillar of Social Rights – chances and risks for Social Europe".

In her presentation, Priv.-Doz. Dr. Dragana Damjanovic, LL.M. (Berkely), will elaborate on the legal nature of the new EU instrument of the European Pillar of Social Rights and its incorporation within the European Semester (the yearly cycle of economic policy coordination within the EU). On this basis she will discuss the potentials and deficiencies of this new instrument to build a more Social Europe. Furthermore, she will raise questions about the democratic legitimacy and accountability of this new governance instrument.

Neue Entdeckung in der Pflanzenzelle

Ein Forschungsteam unter der Leitung der BOKU University hat erstmals einen zentralen Schlüsselprozess in den Vakuolen von Pflanzenzelle entdeckt, der eine entscheidende Rolle für die Pflanzenstabilität und -resistenz spielt. Die Ergebnisse der Studie, die kürzlich im Fachjournal Nature Plants veröffentlicht wurden, bieten wertvolle Informationen über die Widerstandsfähigkeit von Pflanzen gegenüber Umwelteinflüssen.
