After his MSc in Suzhou, China, Shi Yan did his PhD at the BOKU as part of the Euroglycanarrays ITN. Later he was leader of the project "Biosynthesis of helminth N-glycoproteins in insect cells" - in collaboration with the University of Veterinary Medicine. He was then joint leader of a Top-Vet-Science project “Glycoengineered Recombinant Proteins as Vaccine Candidates against Haemonchus contortus” funded by the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna. Now he is at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität, München.
