On October 16, the Department of Natural Sciences and Sustainable Resources held its first symposium with the aim of bringing all twelve institutes together in one place for scientific exchange and to identify potential areas for future collaboration.

Each institute gave a short presentation providing an insight into its respective research. These presentations served as “teasers” for interactive poster sessions. These discussion rounds offered room for more detailed presentations of research projects and also provided ample opportunity for interaction. Representatives from the BOKU Core Facilities also participated, further enriching the program.

The results of the discussions were summarized and further discussed in roundtable discussions moderated by Olivier Guillaume (Project Support).

The symposium will lay the foundation for closer cooperation between the institutes, as can already be seen in the minutes of the syntheses. Another event is planned based on the suggestions from the feedback questionnaire. More on that to follow soon.
