Timeline

1st project year (August 1, 2010 – July 31, 2011)

Aug.: Kick-off 3-day meeting to agree on coordination models and to discuss methodologies and make precise plan of activities for project year 1. Meeting will be used to undertake a first field expedition where field analyses and sampling procedures will be discussed and agreed. Meeting place: Croatia. Aug. – Oct.: Literature survey, definition of field expedition plan, field analyses and sampling. Inventory and storage of tissue samples. Harvest of grapes for bunch analysis, microvinification. Nov. – Dec.: DNA extraction. Analysis of ampelographic data. Control of microvinification. Jan. – Mar.: SSR and S-SAP analyses. ELISA testing. Data analysis and decision making for repeated sampling and analyses in project year 2. Apr. – May: Repetition and confirmation of SSR and S-SAP analyses. Grafting (propagation) of virus-tested stock vines. Field analysis (bud break recording). Wine analyses. Jun. – July: Field analysis (flowering and disease resistance recording, yield potential parameters). Taking care of propagated material. Interim report preparation.

2nd project year (August 1, 2011 – September 30, 2012)

Aug.: An interim 3-day meeting to discuss results and problems andmake an updated plan of activities for project year 2. Panel evaluation of wines from microvinification by consortium members. Interim report conclusion. Meeting place: Montenegro. Aug. – Oct.: Second year field analyses and sampling. Inventory and storage of tissue samples. Harvest of grapes for second year bunch analysis and microvinification. Check the intravarietal variation in the field conditions based on groupings obtained by molecular analysis and make a strategy for biodiversity preservation. Eventually, repeat partly the sampling and molecular analysis. Nov. – Dec.: Repeated DNA extraction. Analysis of 2nd year ampelographic data. Control of microvinification. Classification, certification and cold storage of propagated material. Jan. – Mar.: SSR and S-SAP analyses (repetition and confirmation). ELISA testing for samples from year 2. Data analysis and preparation of manuscripts for technical papers. Apr. – May: Repeated grafting (propagation) of virus-free stock vines. Field analysis (phenology – bud break recording). Wine analyses. Jun. – August: Field analysis (phenology – flowering and disease resistance recording, yield potential parameters). Overall data analyses and manuscript preparations. Workshop training materials and final report
preparation. Sept.: All project partners meeting to discuss and analyze total project results and dissemination plan. Along with the meeting, a special regional 3-day workshop/training will be organized in Zagreb (Croatia) for various stakeholders. All partners will participate as disseminators.
