The DOC Fellowship Programme of the Austrian Academy of Sciences offers funding for highly qualified doctoral candidates in all areas of research. The fellowships in the amount of 38,000 Euros (annually, before tax) allow young researchers to dedicate themselves to working in focused fashion to complete their doctoral thesis within a clear timeframe.

Applications for a DOC Fellowship are open to doctoral candidates who completed their Diplom or Master’s degrees no more than two years ago and are writing their thesis at an Austrian university. 

Content:

Barbara Haberl (Head of Fellowships & Awards at the Austrian Academy of Sciences) will discuss with the participants of this workshop all parts of an application for the DOC programme.

The focus will be laid on how to prepare the application documents for the target group (committee, reviewers) and how to prepare the scientific CV and the proposal.

Selection criteria and review process will be presented in detail and discussed in relation to the application documents. 

Target group:

Doctoral candidates planning to submit an application to the DOC programme in the upcoming submission period (10.08.-15.09.2021).
