Procedure and application WIETZ:

BOKU employee already reports from sick leave to Kirsten Sleytr (DW 10492, kirsten.sleytr(a)boku.ac.at) and / or the occupational physician Dr. Alexandra Joachimsthaler (Türkenschanze site) or occupational physician Dr. Dejan Popovic (Muthgasse and Tulln sites).

Prerequisite WIETZ :

  • at least 3 months of employment with the BOKU
  • at least 6 weeks of continuous sick leave
  • new entitlement only 18 months after the end of the previous WIETZ

The reintegration plan is completed together with the occupational health department. This is the basis for the agreement on part-time reintegration. These two forms form the framework for the WIETZ process and the subsequent work process. Please send the completed documents to the responsible administrator in HR Management approx. 3 weeks before the desired WIETZ start date; they will then be processed!

The reintegration plan and the agreement on part-time reintegration will be sent to the health insurance company (BVAEB). In order to start the WIETZ, the BVAEB must approve it. The approval is usually sent to your home by registered mail a few days before you start.

Details WIETZ

Reintegration plan - defines the framework conditions and intended process for the gradual return to the original work process

  • Contents include start, duration, number of hours, location of working hours
  • Description of previous workplace (job or requirements profile, information on whether adaptation of the workplace is necessary)
  • Occupational health assessment
  • There is no change to the content of the employment contract!

Reintegration agreement

  •  contains details of the previous working hours and the previous gross monthly salary
  •  contains information on the reduction in working hours, duration of WIETZ, location of working hours, weekly hours, monthly gross pay

Duration of WIETZ

  • 1-6 months
  • 1x extension of 1-3 months possible
  • The approval of the occupational physician is required again!; the personnel management requires the completed forms for the approval of the extension in good time, i.e. approx. 3 weeks before the date of the extension!  Reintegration Plan and Agreement on Part-Time Reintegration. The application will then be forwarded to the BVAEB by your administrator. You will also receive approval by registered mail.

Extent of the reduction in working hours

  • Reduction by at least 1/4 (25%) and at most 1/2 (50%) of working hours
  • at least 12 hours/week
  • At least remuneration in the amount of the marginal earnings threshold
  • Course of working hours in WIETZ at least constant or increasing

Start of WIETZ

    at the earliest on the following day after notification of approval

Remuneration and reintegration allowance due

    Corresponds to working hours, pro rata remuneration (BOKU) + reintegration allowance (from funds of the health insurance provider)

Possible changes to the reintegration agreement

    Fixed duration or fixed number of hours may be changed by mutual agreement a maximum of twice after starting work
    Changes must be made in writing and require the consent of the employer and employee (submit application to HR management in good time)

Early termination of WIETZ

    if no longer appropriate for occupational health reasons
    Application must be made in writing by the employee
    Return to normal working hours at the earliest 3 weeks after written notification of the termination request
