Nutrient Balances in Lysimeter Experiments on Lightly Loamed Sand, Loess and Loamy Soils at the Leipzig Site

Summary

Balances of N, P, K, Mg and Ca are based on a three years lysimeter experiment with three different soils and crops at the Leipzig site. Balances include the mineral fertilizer use as input and the uptake and leaching of nutrients as output. Balance values vary in relation to the kind of soils, year and growed crops. The influence of the soil predominates especially on nitrogen and calcium which are released from the soil reserve. During vegetation time the nutrient removal rates primarily destine the balance, the exception is calcium which is leached out from soils in significant amounts.
