Educated at the University of Edinburgh (BSc, Hons, Biochemistry, 1988) and the University of Oxford (DPhil, Biochemistry, 1992), I have been an associate professor at the BOKU since 2002.
Over the years, I have led twelve projects funded by the Austrian Science Fund, was partner in two Marie Curie Initial Training Networks and am 'faculty member' of the BioTOP doctoral programme.
I was President of the International Glycoconjugate Organisation (2011-2013) and was a member of the board of the Austrian Science Fund for twelve years. I am a member of the editorial boards of the Journal of Biological Chemistry, Glycobiology and Glycoconjugate Journal.
