Maysoon Fares received her bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering at the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Vienna in 2020. She continued with a master’s degree in Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine. Additionally, pursued a double degree in Experimental and Medical Biosciences at Linköping University (Sweden), which she completed in 2023.
During her master's studies, she interned at the R&D Unit for Skin and Cultured Cells at Linköping Hospital. For her master's thesis, she focused on the role of adipose-derived stem cells (adMSC) in wound healing, specifically investigating the stem cell population within human decellularized tissue. The aim of her thesis was to assess human decellularized skin as a scaffold for tissue regeneration in burn wound healing. She concentrated on establishing a repopulation protocol with adMSC and directing their differentiation into keratinocytes. Since March 2024 she is working as a technician at ICTCT.
