BOKU Research portal awarded WACA silver certificate for accessibility
More and more areas of our life are moving into the digital world. This makes it all the more important that as many people as possible can participate in this world. Certain limitations can make interaction more difficult, and barriers arise.
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) were developed by the W3C - the World Wide Web Consortium - specifically for websites. These guidelines, in turn, form the basis for the Web Accessibility Certificate (WACA). However, by adhering to these guidelines, you not only ensure barrier-free access and thus compliance with legal requirements such as those of the BaFG - the Accessibility Act - but also generally improve the user experience for all users of a website!
In order to give this increasingly important topic the attention it deserves, BOKU University decided to pay particular attention to the barrier-free implementation of the FIS3+ project, the first BOKU information system, certified by the WACA. The corresponding certification process has now been successfully completed with the award of the WACA Certificate for Accessibility in Silver.
