We research and develop materials, with a focus on (bio)polymer( composites) using various natural materials, as well as industrial and agricultural side- and waste streams. Along the development chain we perform compounding as well as injection moulding and extrusion alongside analysis and preparation of various raw materials, material modification, experimental design developments, up to processing using our pilot plant facilities. Materials are characterized and tested in our own labs and together with collaboration partners, providing the whole range of analytical methods necessary.
Our modern, state-of-the-art equipment allows for high-standard both fundamental and applied research and efficient execution of projects both with academic and industrial partners outside and inside funded projects. We are also involved in subject-specific teaching within the study programs of BOKU.
