Natural materials technology
The „natural materials technology“ group is concerned with the fundamental understanding of natural materials and selected additives, for novel material applications and technologies, with strong reference to bioeconomy advancements. A current focus is on wood processing such as a cutting and sanding, with respect to arising dust particles that are controlled through new reduction technologies. The research group is strongly promoting the cradle-to-cradle thinking philosophy, which is supposed to get transferred into the design of future materials. Cradle-to-cradle is a fully sustainable developmental strategy that mimics the regenerative cycle of nature (closed-loop / zero-waste materials and technologies).
