Life on earth has evolved a tremendously successful system of harvesting light from the sun for use. This system includes the Light Harvesting Complex proteins in the Photosystems of plants.

In this work, we produce Light Harvesting Complex II (LHC-II) protein in artificial membranes. This would enhance stability of the proteins and allow them to be handled and manipulated more easily. This is critical, if we aim to incorporate them into advanced light processing systems.
