U-Multirank: second best!

U-Multirank is a multidimensional, user-driven approach to international ranking of higher education institutions. It compares the performances of universities in the five dimensions of their activity: (1) teaching and learning, (2) research, (3) knowledge transfer, (4) international orientation and (5) regional engagement. Based on empirical data, U-Multirank allows users to develop their own personalised rankings by selecting indicators in terms of their own preferences.

In this independent ranking in Europe we come off second only to Wageningen University (NL) in our field of life sciences, while we have a broader approach and cover practically all of the subjects for understanding our environment and nutrition.

In Austria we come off second best as well – the best performance (again just by one ‘A’-score) being accredited to Graz University of Technology (TU Graz). Again we are the ones who address the issue of the environment most comprehensively in our teaching and research.

And of course we have the ultimate advantage of our main campus being located in Vienna, one of the “best university cities in the world”. Link: www.umultirank.org/study-in-vienna/index.html

What U-Multirank has to say about our performance:

“University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU) is one of 25 universities included in U-Multirank for Austria. It is characterised by a high percentage of international students. The graduation rate of master students is 88,61. As made clear by its sunburst chart – a snapshot illustration of the university’s performance profile across the five U-Multirank dimensions – BOKU is strongest in Research. Its overall profile shows top performance across various indicators, with 12 ‘A’ (very good) scores overall.”
