Monitoring of Spectral UV Radiation
On behalf of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management (BMLFUW) continuous monitoring of spectral UV radiation is carried out at two stations in Austria (Sonnblick 3106 MASL and Großenzersdorf 202 MASL). The measurements are performed within the quality standards of the “Network for the Detection of Atmospheric Composition Change” (NDACC). The main goal of this measurement campaign is the production of high quality data. This is made possible by the quality inspection and quality insurance of the used technology. The data provides a fundament for the research of diverse topics such as environment, climate, medicine and meteorology. The measurement data series of UV radiation at Hoher Sonnblick is one of the worldwide longest-running continuous data series of spectral UV radiation on high alpine ground. The monitoring of spectral UV radiation is operated by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management and is guaranteed until 2019. Contact: S. Simic, M.
