Topics 2020:
The three modules have the following objectives and provide the following skills:

Research Marketing
Goal:
Imparting soft skills that facilitate the successful dissemination of research results via non-academic
channels to new target groups in society, business & politics.
Skills that are acquired
Knowledge of 6 - 8 types of research communication
Identification, evaluation and planning of occasions for research communication
Planning of long-term & sustainable research communication
Preparation of scientific information for different communication channels
Textual and graphical representation of scientific information
Dealing with media representatives

Funding application optimization
Goal
Imparting soft skills to research assistants for the successful creation of
grant applications.
Skills that are acquired
Get to know different types of funding agencies
Recognition of economic policy contexts of support programs
Understanding the goals and requirements of a funding program
Recording guidelines and evaluation criteria
Identify key funding criteria
Coordinate presentation of own research performance with funding criteria
Structured and concise textual presentation of the proposed project
Present strengths & weaknesses of the project in the right balance
Embedding of the project description in the overall application
Dealing with (possible) project partners

Media Communications
Goal
Development of skills for the textual preparation of research results for non-experts.
Skills that are acquired
Recognize information hierarchies of scientific results
Separate the essential from the detailed
Placing essential scientific information in a context that is relevant (for the target group)
Structuring a text for common (social) media and special target groups
Maintain text flow and build up tension arcs
Linking scientific information with organization-relevant messages
Coupling texts with other sources of information
Adapting a text for many purposes
Check & Controls for a successful (press) text
