Although the identified governance challenges take on specific characteristics in the context of climate change adaptation (in particular those related to uncertainties), they are not totally unique. Similar challenges exist and not so different governance approaches (including coordinating bodies, strategy processes and stakeholder forums) have been developed, applied and researched over years in various policy fields. Those fields frequently mentioned in the context of climate change adaptation because they are concerned with similar governance challenges in thematically related contexts are Although the governance experiences made in these three fields are rich and highly relevant for climate change adaptation, they are rarely addressed in the context of adaptation. Within the Go-Adapt project we explored experiences with Sustainable Development Strategies. Since this approach to better integrate various sectoral policies dates back to the early 2000s, respective experiences are highly relevant for more recent National Adaptation Strategies. | |
