Although the identified governance challenges take on specific characteristics in the context of climate change adaptation (in particular those related to uncertainties), they are not totally unique. Similar challenges exist and not so different governance approaches (including coordinating bodies, strategy processes and stakeholder forums) have been developed, applied and researched over years in various policy fields.
