Johann Vollmann, a great authority and appreciator of Gregor Mendel, received the Mendel Memorial Medal 2016 at the Centrum Mendelianum in the Moravian Museum in Brno. We congratulate cordially! Prof. Johann Vollmann from the Department of Crop Sciences gave a lecture entitled: Gregor Mendel between Brno and Vienna and was awarded the Mendel Memorial Medal 2016 at the scientific event: Afternoon with Gregor Mendel, on November 22, 2016, at the Centrum Mendelianum, Biskupskydvur, Muzejni 1, Brno, Czech Republic. Additonal speakers at the event were Prof. Daniel J. Fairbanks, from College of Science & Health, Professor of Biology, Utah Valley University, with the presentation: In Mendel's Footsteps as well as Jan Klein and Norman Klein.
