The course 873020 "Bio-inspired geo-engineering and applications (in Eng.)" will cover the principles of bio-inspired design with a focus on geotechnical engineering and infrastructure. The topics include an introduction to relevant biological concepts, bio-inspired design theory, translation of biological strategies to solve engineering problems, methods to address spatial and temporal scale differences, and development of a bio-inspired solution in geotechnics. This one week-course will culminate in a design project that the students will develop and present in class.
