Istanbul Technical University - PhD student

With the support of Istanbul Technical University International Research Collaboration Project titled “Measurement and Prediction of Load Bearing Capacities of Piles used in Offshore Renewable Energy Structures”, we are looking for a PhD student to work on the project at the ITU Institute of Earthquake Engineering. The project is a joint collaboration with Dr. Amin Barari from the Aalborg University of Denmark.
The research covers the analysis and modeling of installation and pull-out resistance of helical piles used in offshore renewable energy structures, particularly offshore wind turbines. The position requires the applicant to spend some time in the beginning at the laboratory of the Aalborg University Department of the Built Environment, Division for Structures, Materials and Geotechnics as well as at ITU to be responsible from both experimental and theoretical works.

Interested applicants should send their detailed CV, BS and MS transcripts as a single pdf file to mbulker (at) itu.edu.tr with a cover letter.

Important Note: The applicants should be in a position to be admitted to the doctoral program of either the Earthquake Engineering or the Geotechnical Engineering at ITU in the Fall 2022 semester.
