Special publisher agreements
BOKU scientists receive financial support from the library for Open Access publications.
-- To be noted: Taylor & Francis: Unfortunately the Open Access agreement had to be stopped until further notice. Consortial negotiations for a new agreement from 2024 are currently underway.
In 2023, there are transformative agreements with the following publishers:
Springer: Term until the end of 2023 (Contract extension until 2026 under negotiation)
Wiley: Term until the end of 2023 (Contract extension until 2026 under negotiation)
Elsevier: Term until the end of 2023, for publications in Hybrid journals, limited contingent for publications in Gold Open Access journals (Contract extension until 2026 under negotiation)
IWA Publishing: Term until the end of 2024
ACS: Term until the end of 2023 (Contract extension until 2026 under negotiation)
OUP: 2023-2025
The contracts enable a Read & Publish for almost all Hybrid journals of these publishers. The article processing charges (APC) for Open Access in the eligible journals are entirely covered by the library in all of these agreements.
For publications in Gold Open Access journals of BioMed Central the APC are covered by the library.
Discounts on APC are granted at MDPI and AAAS for BOKU staff.
