Wiener Rupert-Riedl-Preis
The Club of Vienna announces the call for the Vienna Rupert Riedl Prize for the year 2026.
The submitted works should show a connection to evolutionary epistemology, of which Rupert Riedl is considered a founder. Works that adopt new or critical approaches to evolutionary theory are equally welcome. The prize supports theoretical and practice-oriented work from the humanities, social and economic sciences, as well as the natural and engineering sciences.
Submissions may be written in German or English and must not be older than three years (from 2023). Works that have already been submitted once cannot be considered a second time.
Criteria for Award Worthiness:
- Grounding in evolutionary theory
- Interdisciplinarity
- Societal relevance
- Scientific excellence
Prize Money and Jury The prize money amounts to €1,000. The research works will be reviewed by a panel of experts. The jury’s decision is final and not subject to legal appeal.
We ask interested early-career researchers to send their application materials in PDF format by May 31, 2026 to sekretariat(at)clubofvienna.org.
Documents to Submit:
- Research work (diploma thesis, master’s thesis, dissertation, habilitation)
- Summary of the research work (1–2 pages) in German
- Evaluation/review of the work
- Curriculum vitae of the applicant
