Solutions for future-proof agriculture and sustainable nutrition
May 22, 2024, 9 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.
Large lecture hall in the TÜWI of the BOKU, Peter-Jordan-Straße 76, 1190 Vienna
In order to counter the climate and biodiversity crisis, the threat of resource scarcity and the foreseeable population growth, it is urgently necessary to rethink our food production, our food systems and our eating habits.
The Future Conference offers experts from various disciplines a platform to critically examine and discuss existing concepts for overcoming these challenges. BOKU is the only university in Austria that is able to comprehensively research and analyze the entire sustainable value chain of the agricultural and food sector - from resources and production to consumption and disposal.
While science provides good solutions, the question arises as to how these can be implemented in practice. What role do consumers and food producers play in this? And what specific challenges are relevant for Austria in this context?
In view of these pressing socio-political issues, BOKU invited participants to an in-depth exchange and open discussion about the future direction of food production and sustainable nutrition.
