General information
Projects of the working group range from conventional microbial analysis over determination of the biodegradability of synthetic materials and bio-polymers to application of biotests for the determination of ecotoxicological effects in aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems. Further microbial population structures are analysed from environmental samples by molecular biological methods. As a brand new working task, research for allelopathy (chemical interactions between plants and other organisms) had begun.
The working group will specialise in future more on the analysis of ecotoxicological effects from waste and biodegradable materials, on investigations in allelopathy with focus onto an exploitation in agriculture and on molecular biological analysis of microbial communities in environmental samples.
