Dear data science enthusiasts,

Following up our previous event on Reproducible Data Analysis we want to discuss with you your needs and ideas on training on research data management (RDM) and computational skills for staff at BOKU.

This time we plan a discussion workshop with people interested in designing trainings, to envision possible formats and to collect potential instructors. Currently, BOKU is setting up data stewards supporting each Department on research data management and related topics. In this context it would be great to have a larger group of staff with RDM skills.

One organization we could explore are the so-called Carpentries (https://carpentries.org/ ). It's a network teaching people data, library and software-skills and also doing a lot of train the trainer courses.

It you want to contribute please send us your thoughts and input to data.science(at)boku.ac.at and let us know if you can join us on November 4th at 2pm (location Türkenschanze). Details will follow.

We are curious to hear your ideas!

Best wishes,

Ursula Laa and Theresa Scharl for the Data Science Initiative
and
Anna Hikl and Gabriela Miechtner for Research Support

The workshop will be held at Schwackhhöferhaus, SCHW-SR 10
