Coffee Farmers Market
We find strength in solidarity, not competition.
Who we are
Who we are
A group of coffee companies that have an authentic relationship with producers and are committed to sharing value capture and promoting knowledge exchange. We are the children, the relatives, the friends, and the long-term business colleagues of coffee farmers who have met through the Coffee Talks held at BOKU University since 2019 or during research activities on coffee led by scholars at INWE, BOKU University.
Working Guidelines
Our companies reimagine the value chain from a decolonial perspective, challenging the usual gatekeepers through four strategic working guidelines:
- Long-term Partnerships: Foster commercial relationships with producers that span a minimum of consecutive five years and/or have recently initiated directly their entire business with community of producers.
- Equitable Value Sharing: Ensuring producers capture economic value through proved mechanisms like profit-sharing, risk-sharing, investments in local community projects or any other type of sharing engagement.
- Collaborative Innovation: Facilitating ongoing exchange—both in-person and online— on production, processing, quality, climate adaptation strategies; forging new value chain pathways to reshape power dynamics (e.g., short value chains, roasted at origin); among other related issues.
- Transparency and Solidarity: Operating with open communication and a commitment to mutual support.
Goals
- Increase visibility for companies with authentic relationships with producers.
- Amplify producers' voices and partner with them to assess the legitimacy and effectiveness of decolonial industry strategies.
- Bridge the information divide between producers and final consumers.
- Participate in industry events, leading to visibility and a collective voice.
- Create long-term, vertically integrated value chains in which coffee farmers hold ownership, extending to roasteries and coffeehouses in importing nations.

Vom Ursprung bis in die Tasse. Ohne Umwege.
