Summer School on Modelling Intercropping Systems

The Summer School was organised by Ahmad M. Manschadi from the Institute of Agronomy at BOKU University, and took place from 6 to 9 July 2026. Participants explored the principles of crop modelling and learned how modelling tools can help better understand, design and evaluate cereal–legume intercropping systems.

During the four-day event, early-career researchers and professionals from around the world combined lectures, hands-on exercises and discussions to deepen their understanding of the process-based SSM-InterCrop model and the LEGUMINOSE decision support system (more information can be found at https://www.leguminose.eu/tool/ ).
