Working with Attachments
Viewing Attachments
Attachments can either be viewed in the QuickViewer mode or in its corresponding software (in case it is installed).
GroupWise provides an internal viewer for the majority of standard text and image formats. This viewer is activated by simply clicking on the attachment and then shown in the main window. By double clicking on the file it is opened in the corresponding software.
Some formats attach an edited attachment to the email.
Sending Attachments
By using the button Attach you can attach optional documents to your email. These are then shown as symbols underneath the window.
Please note:
Direct insertion of files as attachments in emails in only useful for one or a few relatively small files which are then sent to one or a few recipients. Large attachments are automatically blocked when sent.
For large or many files (more than 20 MB as a total) as well as for all emails that are sent to a large amount of recipients, it is better to not directory attach the file to the email but rather use the following, technically more efficient method:
- Data Exchange via BOKUdrive (for all)
- Data Exchange FiLR (for all)
- BOKUbox (only for BOKU staff members)
