The Bruker MALDI TOF is a robust system allowing the analysis of peptides, glycans, lipids and intact proteins. The identification of molecules is possible by determining the mass to charge ratio or by performing additionally MS/MS experiments. To a limited extend quantification of analytes is possible as well.

Matrix assisted laser desorption ionization is coupled to a time of flight detector, providing a robust system for determining the mass of biomolecules. The main advantage of MALDI is the speed of the analysis (time to result) and easy handling. A variety of matrices are available to selectively ionize certain molecule classes.
