Because of increasing prices for wooden by-products the reinforcement of plastics with industrial residues of paper and cardboard obtains continuously attractivness. By the removal of the wood ingredients lignin and silicates these reinforcement alternatives offer further advantages like less abrasion during processing and higher stability in colour by exposure to ultraviolet light. This working area results from the successful research cooperation with UPM-Kymmene to develop paper fibre reinforced terrace deckings in the year 2005.
