BOKU Sustainability Report 2024 - now online!

For the sixth consecutive year, BOKU University is publishing a sustainability report audited according to GRI standards—this year, for the first time, in English and with new auditors!

On 156 pages, BOKU presents its progress in sustainability for the year 2024. The report provides a comprehensive overview of BOKU's diverse sustainability activities across six areas, covering both university-specific topics (teaching & studies, research, societal impact) and ESG topics (environment, social, governance). It highlights achievements as well as opportunities for improvement.

In response to a changing environment and with the aim of critically advancing BOKU's sustainability efforts, several changes have been made in this year's report: It is being published in English for the first time to better engage our international colleagues and stakeholders, and it places an even stronger focus on the most central and significant topics. Additionally, it has been certified by new auditors, who have contributed fresh perspectives and valuable feedback for further development.

Sustainability is a dynamic process. Despite our successes, we recognize the need to continuously reflect on and reassess our goals, strategies, and measures. Looking ahead, we are intensifying our efforts to further develop BOKU's sustainability strategy—by translating the insights we have gained so far into actions for the future. This lays the foundation for acting sustainably and effectively, even in a dynamic environment.

Special thanks to all those involved and contributors within BOKU!
