BOKU Sustainability Update 2025
BOKU Sustainability Update 2025- now online!
BOKU University is breaking new ground in sustainability reporting. To create more room for the actual implementation and strategic development of sustainability goals, the reporting cycle has been adjusted. Starting immediately, a comprehensive report will be published every three years—in the intervening years, the newly introduced Sustainability Brief will provide a concise overview of the most important key figures and developments.
After BOKU consistently published comprehensive, GRI-certified sustainability reports for the years 2019 through 2024, a Sustainability Update is now available for the first time in both German and English.
Insights into the Update
- To strengthen research on sustainable development, BOKU has announced a professorship in Transformative Sustainability Science for 2025. You can find more on this in the Sustainability Update on p. 20.
- BOKU has reduced its GHG emissions by 50% compared to the base year. However, there have been some changes in greenhouse gas accounting, which are broken down in more detail in the report. You can find more on this in the Sustinability Update on p. 30.
The report on the agreed-upon audit procedures (= audit of energy and emissions metrics) can be sent to you upon request!
Special thanks go to everyone involved and who contributed within BOKU!
