Admission onto a doctoral course at BOKU with preliminary studies done domestically
Graduates of the Engineering diploma and masters degrees from the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Vienna, Vienna University of Technology, University of Leoben and Graz University of Technology may be admitted to the doctoral course at the Vienna University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences without any further processes. In such cases, only the original award certificate need be presented at the start of the course (not including BOKU graduates).
DOCTORAL STUDIES IN NATURAL RESOURCES / DOCTORAL STUDIES IN SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC SCIENCES
Admission to the doctoral course at BOKU requires the completion of a relevant Master's degree or an equivalent to a Master's degree at a recognized domestic or foreign university.
The decision as to whether a degree is relevant for a particular subject is made following a content review of the degree in question.
Your application must therefore include the following original documents or notarized copies:
Copies of the corresponding documents must also be submitted to Study Services.
No further copies will be made at Student Services!
- Completed Application form for Doctorate course at BOKU, SOWI, PhD
- Bachelor's and Master's award certificate or diploma certificate
- Performance record for Bachelor's and Master's degree or diploma program
(with subjects, grades, ECTS or hours) - Preliminary supervision confirmation by a BOKU university lecturer
- CV / Resume

Admission to the doctoral program at BOKU Doctoral Schools is handled by DocService (Email: docservice(at)boku.ac.at). Application for admission can only be submitted to Study Services after the student has been accepted at a Doctoral School. The necessary form is available from the DocService for doctoral studies.
