Professorship in

Biophysics with a special focus on the nanosciences

This professorship is available within the Department of Nanobiotechnology as from Winter Semester 2009/10 and encompasses teaching, administrative and research duties. The appointment will be in the form of an unlimited contract. The teaching activities of the successful candidate will encompass lecturing physics as part of the BSc curriculum in food and biotechnology as well as lectures in molecular biophysics, interface physics and ultrastructural research. The successful candidate must be willing to hold courses in both German and English. The focus of the research of the appointee will be in the functional and structural characterisation (e.g., high resolution molecular imaging) of nano- and mesoscopic structures, especially of biological materials and biomimetic supramolecular systems. Furthermore, the appointee’s research field should be integrated with the existing themes within the Department (www.nano.boku.ac.at).
