Professorship in

Nanobiotechnology with a special focus on supramolecular structures

The chair in Nanobiotechnology (II) with a special focus on supramolecular structures is available within the Department of Nanobiotechnology as from Winter Semester 2009/10. The appointment will be in the form of an unlimited contract with the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences Vienna. The teaching activities of the successful candidate will encompass involvement in the development of the multidisciplinary thematic focus on nanobiotechnology within the BSc and MSc curricula in food and biotechnology. The successful candidate must be willing to hold courses in both German and English. The research of the appointee will encompass the production and characterisation of bioinspired functional architectures; of especial interest is the development of encapsulation, targetting and delivery systems. Co-ordination with existing research areas within the Department (www.nano.boku.ac.at) is desired. Furthermore, the appointee is expected to be involved in relevant priority areas and co-operative programmes, to take part in the self-administration of the University and serve in professional committees and institutions at a national and international level.
