Nanobiotechnology

The chair in Nanobiotechnology (I) is available within the Department of Nanobiotechnology as from Winter Semester 2009/10. The appointment will be in the form of an unlimited contract with the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences Vienna. The teaching activities of the successful candidate will include involvement in the development of the multidisciplinary thematic focus on nanobiotechnology within the BSc and MSc curricula in food and biotechnology. The successful candidate must be willing to hold courses in both German and English. The research of the appointee will encompass the production and characterisation of biofunctional structures, especially the development of biomimetic membrane systems. The research topics should be focussed on microbiological, genetic and biotechnological methods and be integrated with the existing themes related to bacterial S-layers within the Department (www.nano.boku.ac.at).
