Club Biotech Kick-Off

Informationen auf Englisch: Club Biotech Kick-Off Event – Latest trends and start-ups in Biotechnology! Invitation to the official club biotech kick-off event! The “club biotech” was founded by students of the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU) during this summer and aims to awaken interest in the area of biotechnology. The “club biotech” also intends to support contact between students of life sciences and scientists of related fields by organizing discussions with renowned scientists and professionals and by arranging excursions to interesting and promising companies. For our kick-off event we invited the Chairman and Managing Director of Novagenesis Foundation ( http://novagenesisfoundation.org/ ) Betina Thorball who is a former BOKU student and Renate Kunert from the Institute of Applied Microbiology. The first part will give an overview of the biotechnological sectors and discuss the most recent trends in biotechnology. Afterwards the topic will shift to alternative and completely new financing models in entrepreneurial start-ups. This talk is supposed to deliver insight into the future occupational field of students of biotechnological areas and to spark interest in current trends of life sciences. Students from all terms as well as graduates, professors and university staff are very welcome to join this event which is of course free of charge. We would also like to welcome you to stay for some snacks and drinks after the discussion. Hard facts: Who?
