Soy – solution or problem? A follow-up.

On BOKU's Sustainability Day, we discussed the pro's and con's of soy and how it is produced. If you are interested in the topic and speak German, tune in to radio station Ö1 on Friday, 1st, at 7 p.m. to follow Eva Obermüller's broadcast.

From bakery products and seasoning, to animal fodder and biofuel: soy is the epitome of an all-rounder. But is it really as good as it seems? What can soy do for us, and at which cost?

On BOKU's Sustainability Day, we discussed such questions in a workshop. Eva Obermüller, scientific journalist for the Austrian broadcasting service Ö1, joined the workshop and interviewed researchers and students to compile an episode for the science magazine "Dimensionen" (http://oe1.orf.at/dimensionen).

For all interested German speakers, we recommend to tune in on Friday, July 1st, at 7 p.m. Among the interviewees are BOKU scientists Johann Vollmann (plant breeding) and Werner Zollitsch (livestock sciences), as well as Robert Hafner from the University of Innsbruck and students of the CDR lecture "Participatory methods in development research and practice".

Enjoy the programme!
