First time in Vienna and Austria? Uncertain of how to navigate different cultural norms and customs? The “Intercultural Competence” course will provide you with a toolkit to react to new cultural situations and will also aid you in using your intercultural experience as an advantage in your future career. Based on active participation, the course will give you an understanding of how different cultures work through discussions with other students, literature work, reflective online tasks and project work.
You will meet other students, some who have studied abroad and just returned with new experiences; who, like you, are currently at BOKU for an exchange semester; and others who will be studying abroad in the future.

Sind Sie das erste Mal länger in Wien/Österreich? Sind Sie unsicher, wie Sie auf kulturelle Unterschiede reagieren sollen? Der Kurs "Intercultural Competence - Acting effectively in an international environment" (Unterrichtssprache Englisch) hilft Ihnen mit neuen kulturellen Situationen umzugehen und Ihre interkulturelle Erfahrung für Ihr weiteres Leben zu nutzen. Durch Diskussionen mit anderen Studierenden, Literaturstudien, reflexiven Aufgaben und Projektarbeit erhalten Sie einen Einblick, wie unterschiedliche Kulturen funktionieren. Sie werden sich nicht nur mit anderen Erasmusstudierenden austauschen, sondern auch mit BOKU-Studierenden, die einen Auslandsaufenthalt planen und mit BOKU-Studierenden, die gerade von einem Auslandsaufenthalt zurückkommen. 3 ECTS, BOKUonline Kursnummer: 120999; Anmeldefrist MORGEN: 2.
